Synopsis
Yam (Sam Hui), Sunny (Tsui Hark) and Hing (Teddy Robin) are all dismissed creating havoc in their jobs. In order not to disappoint his mother, Yam pretends he has been promoted. Out of financial difficulty, Hing has to rely on Sunny, who lives with his girlfriend Jane (Anglie Leung), but she disapproves of the arrangement and even threatens to break up the relationship.
The trio are employed by a noodle factory with a very poor labour relationship. The manager, supervisor and foreman are always picking on their subordinates. Finally, the workers decide to take a united front to oppose their superiors. Yam meets a beautiful girl Amy (Joey Wong) and mistakes her for an ordinary class girl but Amy is the daughter of the proprietor of the noodle factory. A series of light-hearted events happen as Yam tries to court Amy.
To cover up the loss in commodity speculation, the manager tried to burn down the factory. His plot fails as the entire work force put out the fire with their own hands. The electricity cut as a result of overdue payment brings yet another crisis. Realizing Amy’s father is in deep trouble, the workers decide to use manual labour to carry on production. The stricken factory survives to the credit of all workers.
