Taiwan actor Matt Wu makes his directorial debut with One Night Only starring his wife, Yang Zishan (So Young), and Hong Kong superstar Aaron Kwok. Produced and co-written by Leste Chen, the film follows two lonely souls over one long and unforgettable night of many encounters and adventures, both dangerous and heartfelt.
Gambling addict Gao Ye (Aaron Kwok) walks out of prison with nothing to his name and nowhere to go. That night, prostitute Momo (Yang Zishan) unexpectedly knocks on his motel door in an apparent mix-up. He cajoles her into lending him money which he promptly loses at the gambling table, adding to his already mountainous debt. As Gao Ye's unsavory past promptly catches up with him, the two are sent on a wild journey of run-ins with debtors, brawlers and Gao's estranged daughter.
