The Cheng sisters, Li-fang and Li-ching, leave war-torn Shanghai for Hong Kong. Li-ching is rescued from robbers by Chieu Pei-ling who decides to try out her luck in Hong Kong with them. They join Uncle and Aunt in Hong Kong. And they get along wonderfully with the daughter Cheung Hsiao-chuen. Li-ching falls in love with Tony and elopes. Li-fang's turn to fall in love but both times Pei-ling steals her men. But it turns out Pei-ling is merely testing them out for Li-fang's protection. Hsiao-chuen meets Rober. They quarrel all the way to the altar. A distraught Li-fang takes out a tutoring job in Macau where she falls in love. Pei-ling love's the same man but she quietly withdraws from the hopeless triangle......
