But somehow both remain uneasy about their marital future. Pressure builds up silently but exorably while they try harder and harder to be a happy couple. Things get better until Dream Kwan (Rosamund Kwan), a new public relations officer in Foon's department, comes along. She is very pretty, turning every male head in the corporation...
Brief Encounter In Shinjuku (1990)
The hilarious sequel to the 1989 hit The Yuppie Fantasia, Brief Encounter in Shinjuku brings back Lawrence Cheng as a thirty-something Hong Kong yuppie finding misadventures in love and marriage. Leung Foon (Lawrence Cheng) and Ann (Carol "Dodo" Cheng) reunite after the events of The Yuppie Fantasia, but issues still exist. Ann works overtime to be a better wife, and Leung Foon attempts mightily to be a model, upright husband. But being perfect spouses can take its toll, and soon the possibility of infidelity arises for both of them. For Leung Foon, the temptation comes in the form of new office colleague Dream Kwan (Rosamund Kwan), who's got the entire office abuzz with her stunning beauty. Will Ann and Leung Foon decide once and for all that marriage is not for them? Director Gordon Chan brings wry observations and light-hearted comedy to Brief Encounter in Shinjuku, a modern comedy that easily matches, and possibly even surpasses its predecessor!
