8 years ago, the hopeless romantic genre received a gift from heaven in the form of 500 Days of Summer. The impact was enormous and became an instant hit amount most of indie fans. It launched the career of Joseph Gordon Levitt as the boy growing up to be a man whilst also introducing the raw and lovely talent of Zooey Deschanel as simply the "bitch". This is a film that grows onto you and go on to inspire many similar films within this genre. Who can forget the IKEA moments, the timing, the struggles, the lost memories and the process that most of us somehow managed to experience and endure. A little film that's worthy of treasuring.
