Yakuza boss, Muto (Jun Kunimura), is putting his yakuza business aside to plan a movie starring his daughter, Mitsuko (Fumi Nikaidou) for his jailed wife, Shizue (Tomochika). Every time Muto visits her in Prison, he lies to her, telling that the movie shooting is going perfectly. The truth is that Mitsuko has run away with a man , and Muto only has 9 days left until his wife is released from prison. He continues his preparation, sparing no expense and eventually captures Mitsuko. She lies; introducing Koji (Gen Hoshino), as the man she ran off with and as a director. So Muto decides to hire him to do the movie. Threatened with death, Koji plays the role of a director. However, unable to handle the pressure of constant questions from casts and crews, who are all yakuza, he escape. He is easily caught again, but it is there his savior appears in the form of wannabe-filmmaker, Hirata (Hiroki Hasegawa). Feeling that this film is his destiny, Hirata asks Muto's rival Ikegami (Shinichi Tsutsumi), a man who has loved Mitsuko since their first strange encounter, for his cooperation. Now, they are about to film a movie set within a very real feud between two yakuza clans and no one knows whether they will even be alive to see the premier.
