Mika Kirishima is a job-hunting university student who isn’t quite ready to take on the responsibilities of adulthood. She doesn’t interview well, still hasn’t landed a job, and grows increasingly depressed as she is rejected by one firm after another. A friend tells Mika about a part-time trial job at a hostess bar in Roppongi called “Club Honey”. There, Mika experiences a world unlike anything she has ever seen.

There’s Saki, the top-ranked hostess whose reign is threatened by an equally top-ranked transplant from another club. There’s Yuma, the pregnant hostess who is determined to have and raise her child as a single mother. There’s Yuuka, the devious hostess who makes colleagues sleep with clients, and skims money off of their earnings. There’s Hanae, who lost her husband in an accident and must work as a hostess to provide for her children. Club Honey is the adult world, a microcosm of the “dark side” in which Mika must make her way.

The surprises, failures and unexpected challenges that Mika experiences in her new environment begin to gradually shape her into an adult woman. As Mika watches the veteran hostesses stride confidently across the floor in gorgeous dresses, she begins to take pride in her job. But then, she receives a letter from one of the companies she applied to….
