Ultimate Justice (2017) - USA

Reviews by Andrew CHAN (Film Critics Circle of Australia )

Mark Dacascos follows the “Expendables” meets “Taken” formulas with a low budget version in “Ultimate Justice”. Stringing together fellow stunts and B-movie martial arts actors, this film manages to excel in most of its action scenes. The story is largely inconsequential as it play second fiddle to the stunts work and various martial arts and guns battle one after another. It is the kind of film made for Dacascos’s fans and alike and the result is a far better martial arts showcase than his most recent efforts.

Mark Dacascos headlines the film as the leader of the “Expendables” pack known as VME Security also known as “Vivere militare est” in Latin for “To live is to fight. Rightly so, we get an action packed display with stunts after stunts for satisfy genre fans. Wolfgang Riehm plays the steady victim, friend and eventual villain, unfortunately is poorly dubbed in English. The ensemble team flairs far better as Matthias Hues, Henry Muller, Mike Möller and Brandon Rhea all gets to put that muscles in the bronx. Mike Möller in particular impresses in his martial arts skills in a number of one on one fights.

All in all, “Ultimate Justice” entertains and display the relatively irrelevant plot line, the film ends up being quite fun and enjoy to endure as we witness quality stunts and fight scenes being dished out one after another. Mark Dacascos remains the key attraction and provide the best presence by far, but it is really an ensemble effort that made “Ultimate Justic a better film that it should really ever be.

I rated it 6/10
